Also present were youth and leaders from the “Rage Against the Haze” tobacco free movement. “Rage's” mission is to empower teens with self-confidence and knowledge so they might become influencers of their generation, spreading the tobacco-free message, peer-to-peer, throughout South Carolina, much like a virus is spread. In South Carolina 6,500 teens become new, daily smokers.

At the “Rage Against The Haze” station teens between the ages of 13 to 18 interacted with “Ragers” who told them about the importance of living a tobacco free life.  Greenville Family Partnership (GFP) provided an iPad2 which was given away to one of the lucky teens who had signed up to become a Rager.

For more than ten years, The “Tobacco Free Kids Day” at Furman has allowed GFP to tell kids and their families about the importance of avoiding tobacco and how to accomplish that goal.
