Amy Winehouse's death a result of alcohol poisoning
A coroner's report has determined Grammy award-winning artist Amy Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning. Her blood alcohol level was more than 5 times the legal limit to drive. She struggled with substance abuse throughout her life and sadly lost her battle. Should High School Athletes Be Test For Drug Use?
Teen drug use increased in the past year. The use was not just with alcohol and marijuana. Teens were involved in prescription drug abuse and other illegal drug use. It is suggested that we start testing school athletes since they represent the school and are a high risk group due to possible injuries. "Bath Salts" , synthetic cocaine, has definately hit the Upstate area. Paranoia, agitation, high blood pressure, panic attacks, and hallucinations are just a few of the effects of this drug. Texting While Driving: Why Take The Risk?
A new study conducted while drivers are actually texting and driving on a course versus in a simulator showed their reaction times to be doubled. It took twice the time for participants to react to roadway dangers, signs,etc. while texting or reading a text.
